Eagle Technologies is looking for a Cloud Architect to support our growing organization in the Washington, DC area, headquartered in Arlington, VA. This new position will work with our cloud business unit lead to plan and design cloud environments and solutions for cloud migrations and native cloud application development identified in business development opportunities. The successful candidate will contribute to proposal writing activities and the development of associated proofs-of-concept as part of capture efforts. The candidate will also contribute to developing Eagle’s cloud capability.

 Responsibilities will include:

  • Create integrated functional designs taking technical and business inputs into consideration
  • Contributes to business development initiatives as assigned, providing input to proposals, presentation development, and data calls
  • Identify add-on work with existing clients and works with Eagle business unit leads and business development personnel to capture new business
  • Provide subject matter expertise for client presentations and demonstrations
  • Design client cloud improvement roadmaps, identifying organizational constraints and industry trends
  • Operate in a cloud environment and support cloud solutions
  • Guide team members while enhancing Eagle cloud and automation framework

Candidate Profile and Skills:

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be well organized. He or she will have a successful track record of providing cloud architect support on one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc., preferably on Gov Cloud environments. This position requires a familiarity with current cloud services, methodologies, and tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, no-SQL/SQL cloud databases, big data, analytics, dashboards, microservices, API Gateway, Service Mesh, cloud metrics, SaaS development, DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, and security as code. Should be proficient in one or more of Java, .NET, Python, and Node platforms. Familiarity with most programming technologies: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, PL/SQL, Transact-SQL, R, shell; and web development: Angular, HTML, and CSS. Preferred working knowledge of AWS-specific services and tools, including Amazon CloudFront, AWS CloudFormation, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, Amazon RedShift, Amazon Elastic MapReduce, EKS, EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, and Amazon Route 53.  The successful candidate should monitor and continually enhance their understanding of emerging technologies, such as machine learning, AI, RPA, IoT, and mobile, plus low-code/no-code technologies like Appian, Microsoft PowerApps, and Mendix.

 Education, Experience, & Certifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of AWS experience
  • Experience with translating requirements into technical solutions for business development
  • Technical experience with large public-facing cloud projects on AWS
  • AWS technical certifications
