Cloud DevOps Engineer

Eagle Technologies is looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to support our growing organization in the Washington, DC area, headquartered in Arlington, VA. This new position will work with our cloud business unit lead and cloud architects to develop, implement, and operate cloud solutions as part of cloud migrations and native cloud application development initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to developing proofs-of-concept as part of business capture efforts and developing and operations cloud solutions in external customer and Eagle internal projects. The candidate will also contribute to developing Eagle’s cloud capability.

 Responsibilities will include:

  • Implement and operate integrated functional cloud designs
  • Contribute to RFP responses and develop proofs of concept to support business development activities
  • Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on a cloud platform
  • Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems that are highly available and scalable
  • Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, and monitoring for cloud operations
  • Enhance Eagle cloud, and automation framework, including automated code builds, testing, and deployment
  • Participate in the creation of templates, starter projects for various technology stacks and common applications
  • Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across cloud-based functions.

 Candidate Profile and Skills:

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be well organized and have a successful track record of providing cloud DevOps support. Senior software development and system administrator experience. Knowledge of deployment/configuration management cloud tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible. Utilizes version control tools like GIT in cloud-based development. Experienced with automation, IaC, configuration as code, cloud network infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, no-SQL/SQL databases, cloud, data center operations, and security protocols. Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows OS. Understands AWS and other cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP. Experience with programming and scripting with languages like Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, PL/SQL, Transact-SQL, R, and shell (PowerShell, bash, zsh, etc.). Preferred working knowledge of AWS-specific services and tools, including Amazon CloudFront, AWS CloudFormation, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon RDS PostgreSQL, Amazon RedShift, Amazon Elastic MapReduce, EKS, EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, and Amazon Route 53.

Education, Experience, & Certifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher required
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of AWS experience building highly automated infrastructures
  • Technical experience with large public-facing cloud projects on AWS
  • AWS technical certifications
